The National Eligibility Test is essential for those who want to teach in Indian universities or do research. Conducted by the National Testing Agency, it determines your eligibility for Assistant Professor roles and Junior Research Fellowships. The exam has two papers. Paper I is common for all candidates. It tests your teaching skills, research aptitude, reasoning, and comprehension. Paper II is completely based on your post-graduation subject. There is no negative marking, but you need a very high score to qualify for JRF. Preparing for UGC NET requires a deep understanding of your core academic subjects. Most candidates spend six months to a year revising their college syllabus and solving past papers. You can use our checklist below to track your revision for both papers in one place.
