Madhya Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination

Eligibility Passed Class 10 (High School) or equivalent from a recognized Board (Class 8 for Scheduled Tribe candidates)
Age Limit Male (UR): 18-36 years; Female (all categories) & reserved categories: 18-41 years (includes COVID age relaxations)
Exam Pattern Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) | 100 Questions | 100 Marks | 2 Hours | No Negative Marking
The Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board conducts this exam to recruit constables in the state police force. The selection process has a written test and a physical efficiency test. The written test covers General Knowledge, Reasoning, Mathematics, and General Science. The physical test checks your running, long jump, and shot put capabilities. The final selection depends on both written scores and physical test marks. Preparing for the written exam takes three to six months of regular study. Detailed Topic-wise Syllabus (20 topics)

Written Examination

100 MCQs | 100 Marks | 2 Hours | +1 mark for correct answer, No negative marking. Merit is prepared based on both written exam (100 marks) and physical test (100 marks).

General Knowledge & Reasoning 40 Marks

  • History of India and Indian National Movement
  • Geography: Physical, social and economic geography of India
  • Polity: Indian Constitution, executive, legislature, judiciary
  • MP GK: History, freedom struggle contribution of MP, major tribal leaders
  • MP Geography: Rivers, forests, sanctuaries, tourist spots, monuments
  • Current Affairs: National events, summits, sports, awards
  • Reasoning: Analogy, classification, series completion
  • Reasoning: Coding-decoding, blood relations, directions

Intellectual Ability & Mental Ability 30 Marks

  • Logical Reasoning: Syllogisms, statements & assumptions
  • Venn Diagrams and representation logic
  • Linear and Circular seating arrangements
  • Basic puzzles, ordering, and ranking test
  • Non-verbal: Series completion, paper folding, embedded figures

Science & Simple Arithmetic 30 Marks

  • Physics: Motion, force, gravity, units, heat, light, sound basics
  • Chemistry: Chemical formulas, reactions, states of matter, periodic table
  • Biology: Cell, plant kingdom, human physiology, health & hygiene
  • Arithmetic: Number system, simplification, fractions, decimals
  • Arithmetic: Percentages, ratio & proportion, average
  • Arithmetic: Profit & loss, discount, simple interest
  • Arithmetic: Time & work, speed, distance, simple mensuration
