Joint Entrance Exam for Polytechnics & Vocational Lateral Entry

Conducted By West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD)

Eligibility JEXPO: Passed/Appeared Class 10 (Madhyamik) with 35% marks. VOCLET: Passed 10+2 Vocational/ITI (2 years)

Age Limit JEXPO: No upper age limit, minimum age 15 years as of Jan 1st. VOCLET: No upper age limit

Exam Pattern JEXPO: Merit-based admission (discontinued written exam) / VOCLET: MCQ-based Entrance Exam

The JEXPO and VOCLET exams are conducted for admission to polytechnic diploma courses in West Bengal. JEXPO is for entry into the first year, while VOCLET is for lateral entry into the second year. The JEXPO syllabus tests Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry of class ten level. VOCLET tests physics, chemistry, mathematics, and basic engineering concepts. Securing a good rank is essential to get seats in government polytechnic colleges. Preparing for these exams takes three months of basic revision.
